Clothing Picks
My family have been over from the Isle of Mull for a visit before Christmas. This is because I will be staying in Edinburgh due to my husband’s sister and her husband is travelling from New York to spend Christmas with us.
Christmas in Edinburgh is magical, the Christmas market is the biggest in Scotland and it’s always fun to wander around the stalls with a mulled wine.
My daughter also loves Santa land with all the kiddie rides. My parents took her on Thursday and she was so excited. She kept calling it the “Christmas Carnival” (Thank you to the Americans on YouTube...she also calls sweeties candy but that’s an issue in its self) and her face just lit up with all the lights and rides.
We didn’t visit Santa because if you’re a mum in Edinburgh you will know all the best Santa’s book up by November.
We have booked a Santa adventure in Stirling for next week and it’s to be amazing.
We also had a mini Christmas dinner at TGIF as I hate turkey and my parents have had turkey 3 time already this December....GRIM
It was bloody freezing with it being the coldest week we have seen in years so my husband kindly took the kiddies back home after lunch so I could spend some time with mum and dad.
My parent have always spoilt me and my sisters at Christmas and this Christmas won’t be any different (even though the ALWAYS say they are scaling back)
The grandkids get loads and my sisters and I are still treated like we were when we were kids. Its clothes that are on my wish list as I am back to my pre baby size even if it’s a bit more like jelly than a body and I’m desperate to find my style again.
I live in leggings and oversized tops and dresses – comfy and practical but not the most stylish. Think frumpy is a word I use a lot.
I have discovered New Look jeans fit me great and how do I know...well the dear old husband says my bum looks good, always a plus! Now am just looking for some tops to cover my muffin top, make my overstretched boobs look fab and make me a trendy looking hot mama...is that too much to ask?
I have been wearing a lot of shirts-low maintenance and smart looking but sometimes I feel a little too formal even a casual one.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear.
I have purchased a few things the last couple of weeks
A beautiful pair of black leather boots, I got these from very. They were only £30 in the black Friday sales but are still available and now cost £38.
They arrived and I was so happy with them. I have very skinny legs and tall boots can often swamp my legs but even though they are roomy they don’t look baggy on. They kept my feet warm in this cold weather and I also feel very stylish.
I also purchased a top from Oasis- a warm wool like long sleeved jumper. It’s a grey leopard print design which I love. It makes the plan top seem more fancy. This looks great with jeans.
I can just throw in on with my jeans and my boots and am ready for the nursery run.
This was £38 pound and washes so well this is a big plus for me...I’m I the only person who can’t wash clothes for shit.
Sainsbury’s do some great clothing for kids and us grownups- they also often have 25% off sales through the year. In the latest one I had a wee wonder around and they had some fab shirts, I found it very hard to pick one but in the end I went for a paisley style print that had beautiful dark colours, perfect for this time of year.
It fits so well and again is great with my jeans and boots.
I will properly wait for the sales to go mad. I often research before going shopping as I hate raking through the mess and often try and get things online if I can.
Just to say I purchased these with my money (well my parents did) I wasn’t paid for this post I just wanted to share with you lovely people some of my picks
Let me know your latest buys...it’s not Christmas unless you treat yourself
