Review - Natural skincare for eczema BALMONDS
I compare my eczema to a dormant volcano: It can lie in peace for a few weeks, months, then all of a sudden it can erupt, and all you can do is hope that it doesn’t cause too much damage. I can go weeks, months and have sometimes gone years without a flare up. Thankfully, my eczema is very mild and because its so sporadic, I do get so self-conscious when it does appear. Normally its my face that is affected, causing what I call "panda eyes" as the skin around my eyes becomes red and inflamed. I cant cover it up with make up and its very sore.
I was sent some products to try out and they arrived the day after a flare up and I have to say I was so grateful for every one of the products I was sent. I always like trying out lotions and potions (the ex beauty therapist in me) so I was excited to give them a whirl.
So here's a little background on the products I was sent -
THE STORY OF BALMONDS
NOTHING ELSE WORKED SO SHE MADE IT HERSELF
Balmonds began with a mother’s desperate search to find an effective, natural way of managing her baby daughter’s very severe eczema without the stinging or irritation of prescribed conventional emollients. Finding nothing suitable available, Natalie Balmond began to experiment with making her own creams in the kitchen and eventually formulated an ointment based on traditional herbal remedies which proved to be so effective that she started a company to share her hemp-based balm with others.
She called the remarkable ointment SKIN SALVATION.
BALMONDS: A NEW CHAPTER
After years of building up an extremely loyal customer base, with SKIN SALVATION stocked on the high street by Waitrose and Holland & Barrett, as well as available on prescription, and with an unrivalled run of 5 star reviews under its belt, Purepotions is now rebranding as Balmonds.
As the company heads into global waters, the change of name reflects Balmonds heritage as a trusted brand, whose core values include effectiveness, integrity and genuine care for their customers.
Balmonds is still headed up by founder Natalie Balmond, and has now been joined at the company by her daughters, including a now grown-up Lula.
BETTER WITH BALMONDS
Balmonds SKIN SALVATION is now set to become a household name, as people discover how useful it can be for all sorts of little skin emergencies.
It’s the kind of traditional ointment that granny might have had in her cabinet and brought out for cuts, grazes, blisters, shaving rash, dry hands, cracked heels, sore lips and noses, insect bites, minor burns and so many other things.
It’s already a bit of a cult secret among professional makeup artists, cyclists, gymnasts, gardeners, mountaineers, care workers, nurses, chefs and tattoo artists, prized for its extraordinary ability to calm down redness and inflammation, soften rough skin and protect broken skin as it heals. It's the perfect one pot travel essential.

Skin Salvation – Rich, oil-based and made with beeswax to lock in the moisture that dry skin desperately needs. The ointment can be used by all ages (from six weeks old) and on all skin types all over the body. As this is made with natural ingredients it reduces the risk of skin irritations and itchiness. Suitable for those who suffer with eczema, dermatitis, psoirasis and other dry skin complaints – prices start from £7.99
Daily Moisturising Cream – A lighter moisturising cream than the one above, still made with the same ingredients but instead of the beeswax, this has been replaced with a lighter shea butter. Suitable for any ages and can be used on its own or alongside the ointment. Again this is suitable for those who suffer with eczema, dermatitis, psoirasis and other dry skin complaints – from £13.99 (my favourite)

My Thoughts
Well I used the balm on my face for a couple of nights before bed and with in 3 days my eyes had cleared up and the eczema was no more!!! It worked so fast.
I loved using the oils after having a bath, they soaked quickly into my sink and didn't leave me greasy at all which was a massive plus point for me, I was worried they would stain my PJs but nope. It left my skin hydrated and so soft.
I also used the products on my children's dry skin and they loved rubbing in the smooth balm before bed. The smell was gorgeous and perfect to help little ones relax before bed.
I was so please with the products and hope if I continue using that I will be saying goodbye to the flare ups and hello soft skin!
