The Love Mum

Last week was a tough one, my mental health was all over the place but it passed and I feel more positive this week.

I held my first giveaway on Instagram and I think it went so well, I cant wait to do another one so watch this space, you can find me on instagram @mumforce.

The royal wedding was also this weekend and love it or hate it, it’s a part of history and I was happy to tune in and see the happy couple. That’s what they were, two happy people getting married. They just happen to be an actress and a prince.

royal wedding

The wedding was traditional with a modern touches which felt right for the couple, the English and especially the royal family can sometimes be seen as stuffy. The service was a breath of fresh air in a modern world.

Now, where I am going is the amazing Michael Curry, who delivered a very different sermon that we have not seen from any other royal wedding. It was wonderful, his message and his words.

Eyebrows where raised because of the way he delivered it (stay calm, its cause we are British) and not because of the words he said, they were real, raw and beautiful.

“There's power in love. Don't underestimate it. Don't even over-sentimentalize it. There's power, power in love.

If you don't believe me, think about a time when you first fell in love. The whole world seemed to center around you and your beloved.

Oh there's power, power in love. Not just in its romantic forms, but any form, any shape of love. There's a certain sense in which when you are loved, and you know it, when someone cares for you, and you know it, when you love and you show it - it actually feels right.” Words by Michael Curry

Look at those word, now true are they!!

Can you remember the love time you feel in love? I do, and I can still think back to the overwhelming feelings, unable to understand it as I was only 14!

When I met my husband, I wasn’t looking for love but its funny how you find things when you aren’t looking.

11 years down the line, my love for him is just as strong  and its hard to see it ending though I am under no allusion that this could be the reality one day.

But does it end? Or does it just change?

I have no idea but we know love is complicated and we may never know everything about it but just as Michael said during his speech, we know that love is bloody powerful.

We know this specially when we have children, the things we do for them in the name of love.

Catch vomit with our hands, wipe shitty bottoms and even risk our own lives for the love of our children, a love we never want to change.

Love is indeed a powerful force, a force we can use more in our day to day life.

So even though we switched on to catch the dress Megan picked (I thought it was perfect for her second marriage), we were reminded about what a marriage is all about and life together as husband and wife.

Sometimes “ All you need is love…”
