The 'MoJo Injection' Mum

I attended my first blogger event last night and I was so nervous and excited.

With social anxiety, going to new places is hard and going alone is even harder. I was lucky that I had met a few of the girls before but this still didn’t stop the fear of the unknown. EEK!

I have also recently given up alcohol to help with my anxiety as at times it can make it worse and no sip of dutch courage this time to help ease me into the event, this was going to be the big one to overcome.

The place – Wagamamas at St Andrew Square

The event – MummyJoJo podcast launch (find her on instagram here)

I was the first to arrive (doh!) but Jojo made me feel very welcome, we have talked for a few months via messages and Jojo was one of the first “mummy bloggers” I connected with and was the first mum in my feature The Other mum, see here.

I was offered a glass of fizz but picked a soft drink, a lovely mango and ginger drink which hit the spot.

As the guests arrived, I soon recognized faces and they me. I had not hid the fact I was nervous so everyone made me feel so comfortable and helped me join in.

Some of the book club ladies also came and it was lovely to see them again.

The vibe was calm and relaxed with a buzz of excitement for Mummyjojo’s big night.  Everyone there was there for this amazing inspirational woman.

As we all settled down in our little groups, Jojo presented herself the only way she knows how, with passion, positivity and with a massive injection of mojo!

Her speech was short but it packed a punch that left me feeling so glad to have been asked to be a part of it all, what a woman.

The wonderful people at Wagamama’s had pulled out all the stops for our gal, producing a very impressive menu starring her logo…you know you have made it when that happens.

The food followed the theme of mindfulness with each item broken down to provide a complete sensory experience. It was very well done.

The food! Yum!

With engaging conversation and full bellies, Jojo made it a night enjoyed by all.

This event was a great first one for me, Jojo ‘s mantra is all about being positive and giving your life an injection of  “mojo” and this was well and truly the way the evening went and I left with a spring in my step and a new found energy running through my vein.

I also woke for the first time in a long time with a smile on my face.

Jojo’s podcasts tackle real issues in a way that are relatable and enjoyable to listen too.

You can find all her podcasts here, please feel free to rate and share. Lets get them out there for people to find.

Thank you Jojo for an amazing night and making my first event so good, you are such an inspiring woman.

I am so happy I have met you and can call you my friend.
