The Other Mum - Kelly Marie Blog

So sorry for the late post, this is my first ever late post but I have a good reason.

My son, Cassius took a right tumble, he was crying, I was crying and my neighbours who saw it all were crying too!

He is fine, better than fine! Its like it never happened to him, for me it will take a bit longer I feel.

So any way back to all our favourite feature!

This week we have the lovely Kelly Marie, I have been following her for a few weeks and love her stories, natural style and her mummy ways!

You can follow he on Instagram here.

She writes a lovely blog too which you should also all check out, you can find it here.

The Other Mum

Bio: Hi everyone. I’m Kelly. I’m pleased to meet you. I’m a 30 something year old mum of two boys, a wife to a total social media phobe and a history teacher by day. I spend most of my life trying to juggle full time work, being a mum, a wife and trying to squeeze in as many box sets and as much chocolate as I can. Where are you from? I am from a little town in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland but was actually born in Perth, Australia. We moved back to Ireland when I was about 3 months old so I don’t have a cool Ozzie accent, instead it’s a really strong Northern Irish accent! Do you still live there? No, we moved to Co. Armagh about ten years ago because we both got jobs down here after we graduated. I didn’t intend to stay in Armagh for so long but when my son started school and seemed really happy there, we kind of settled ourselves that Armagh was our new home. I miss my family terribly, but we go to mammy's house every year for Christmas and it really is only about a 90 minutes drive. It’s not far at all, but I do miss having my family on my doorstep. What would be your revolution? My revolution... that’s a hard question! I’m all about being kind. I really think it takes sooooo much more effort to be unkind. When watching the Royal wedding I was struck by so many things that the Minister, Reverend Micheal Curry said. In particular he said “ There’s power in love. If you don’t believe me, think of the first time when you first fell in love. The whole world seemed to centre around you and your beloved. Oh there’s power in love And it can change this world” I really hope that we can all be a little kinder to one another. I really want my children to be kind. That’s the revolution that I want to see in the world. What did you do on an average Saturday night before kids? Man I used to live for Saturday night. I used to tan to the max, back comb to the max and dance to the max. I loved to bust a few moves on the dance floor (still do). I busted many a move on that dance floor... and scared many a man on that dance floor too!!! What is your Saturday like now? You know what, I live for my Saturday nights now. My husbands cooks on a Saturday night. It’s my night off because I cook all through the week. We recently bought a pizza maker and they have been a big hit. We usually put some mowtown on and crack open a bottle of wine and just chat to each other while the food is being prepared. It’s great because during the week it’s all just a bit more frantic. Then we usually binge watch a Netflix box set when the kids go the bed. If you have alone time-where would you go? My alone time is definitely the bath. I run a big bath, pour a big glass of wine and soak for about an hour. I usually watch an episode of the Real Housewives in there too (don’t judge- I love trashy TV) Where is your happy place? It’s definitely in my bed. With clean sheets. And clean pjs. There is literally no better feeling. What thing do you not like to do? I do NOT like to iron. Not at all. Not even one bit. I could also live without emptying the dishwasher! If you could have a superpower what would it be and why? I’d love to be able to morph into other people. I’d love to be Beyoncé for a day. Who wouldn’t? Who are your top 3 lady heroes? Ooh it’s hard to choose three. 1.Audrey Hepburn because of her effortless grace and style. 2.Michelle Obama because of her intelligence and ideals. 3.Meghan Markle because I’ve kinda fallen in love with her a little. When you were little, what did you want to be? I always wanted to be a History teacher. Always. Best job ever. Most of the time. What’s the best book you have read this year? Ok this is hard. I haven’t had much time to read this year because I’ve just had a baby. I liked the book “happy”by Fearne Cotton. What makes you feel afraid? I do not like heights. This is quite new. I’m a bit scared of flying. This is also new. I think it must be a sign that I’m getting old. What would your last meal be? Definitely Curry. The spicier the better. With chips and poppadoms. What is your dream job? Teaching History (does that make me a geek?) On the first day of ruling the world, what would you do? Make all of the chocolate companies in the world remove the calories without removing the flavour!

Thanks Lovely!!!
