top 5 shows for breastfeeding mums

1. Mindhunter

Mindhunter is an American crime thriller on Netflix that I have been obsessed with, for all true crime lovers out there you have a mildly odd obsession with serial killers this is the show for you.

Mindhunter revolves around FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), along with psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), who originate the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit within the Training Division at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. They interview imprisoned serial killers to understand how they think, with the hope of applying this knowledge to solve ongoing cases.

I got through this series in one week!! Not always an easy watch but its an interesting one.

2. Glee

Ok, this one is defiantly an easier watch and properly a better choice at 3am rather than watching about murders. Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series full of light-hearted fun, catchy tunes and some memorable characters. With 12 seasons and too many episodes to count this one will keep you going for the long haul.

3. Call the Midwife

If you are anything like me, I was all about birthing stories after I had my children.

Call the Midwife is a BBC period drama series about a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The show has also been praised for tackling a variety of topical subjects and contemporary social, cultural and economic issues, including local community, miscarriage and stillbirths, abortion and unwanted pregnancies, birth defects, poverty, illness and disease epidemics, prostitution, incest, religion and faith, racism and prejudice, alcoholism, disability, (then-illegal) homosexuality between men, lesbianism, female genital mutilation, and maternal, paternal, and romantic love.

This show has been my absolute favourite since it started, and you can get nearly all the shows on Netflix. Its historically accurate, entertaining, emotional and has a fantastic cast that make it even better. I have nothing bad to say about this show except I wish it was on the TV every week.

4. Glow

Who doesn’t love watching a bit of 80s retro?

GLOW is an American comedy web television series. The series revolves around a fictionalization of the characters and gimmicks of the 1980s syndicated women's professional wrestling circuit, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (or GLOW).

This isn’t a documentary but more of an entertaining take based on a true story of how women’s wrestling started. The music, the costumes and the cast had me hooked from the first episode.

5. Gilmore Girls

Ok, its totally cheesy but I bloody love this show!

Gilmore Girls is an American comedy-drama television series, the show's main focus is on the relationship between single mother Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory, who live in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a small fictional town filled with colorful characters. The series explores issues of family, romance, education, friendship, disappointment, and ambition, along with generational divides and social class, the latter themes manifesting through Lorelai's difficult relationship with her high society parents, Emily and Richard, and Rory's experiences at the elite, private high school Chilton and later on at Yale University.

Its easy to watch, entertaining and will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Something you will want to be feeling when your living on coffee and 2 hours of sleep.
