"The Organised Mum"

Updated: Jun 8, 2019

If you watch my insta-stories, you will know I like a good rant about cleaning. I, at times have found it very overwhelming keeping on top of the housework and caring for two young children(and a husband). I love a good clean and its a relaxing thing, clean house, clean mind.

I have been looking for some inspiration on how to have a "clean" home but also a life where I don't spend all day cleaning up after the family.

I follow and watch the stories of The Organised Mum in awe that she has such a clean, tidy home and she has children and a husband, that she informed me “don’t live in a cage.”

Her method is to focus on one room a day as well as the superficial mess in the house and of course the bathroom, please see her method here on her blog. I just didn’t think this would work – a clean house in 30 minutes? Yeah right?! She has a house boot camp to get the house in order first before you start and a good spring clean is just what most people want at this time of year.

Well I am eating my words, guys!! I am now on week two and its bloody working! I am not spending the whole day cleaning. I do spend more than the 30 mins but I think the longer I do it, the quicker I will become.

My house seems much fresher, my wash basket is looking less scary and the run around clean up of toys at night is the only thing I am left to do when the kids go to sleep, YASSS!

The method makes the whole thing so much less overwhelming and stressful. The lists are easy and straight forward to follow and they actually do help to keep the house running and organised day to day.

As someone who has had OCD and still has OCD tendencies this is a great method for me to get on board. I know what to do every day and in what order – order and lists are like crack to me!

So lovelies, if you are struggling with the house work or are wanting to give your house/routine an overhaul please check out this lady. She knows what she is doing!
